Hi,
All things that I know to do is creating a new reader with 1 antenna or 2 and create some tags; drag-drop tags to the reader and what else to do?
Why do we use reader with 2 antennas or more?
What is the different to drag-drop tag to one antenna or/and to another?!
I'm really lost! need your help!
Cheers

Hi Hannan,

there is support for more than one antenna, because some of the real "hardware" readers have more than one possible connectors for antennas. That is useful if you have a huge gate and want to read tags even if the Tag is passing at one or the other side of the gate. Readers like the Alien Reader 9800 is supports reading from a specified antenna. But if you don't tell the reader where to read it will select all antennas by default.

Best regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
Do you mean that every antenna can only read the selected (drag-drop) tags on it? If so, the reader can not read other existing tags if they don't be dragged-dropped to a specified antenna, Right????
Thank you in advance for your help
Cheers

Hanan,
Alot of readers have a functionality to request tags from a certain antenna only. For example, the Alien reader allows you to set the 'antennasequence' variable that enables you to select the antennas that you want to see tags from. So in Rifidi Emulator, you can create a new reader with more than one antenna and then write a client tool that requests tags from specific antennas.

If you drag and drop a tag onto an antenna in Emulator, it is like the is in the field of view of the antenna. You can then remove the tag and it is no longer in the field of view and the reader cannot "see" the tag any more. Only tags that are on an antenna can be seen by the reader.

I hope this helps..
