Feature Request Rules **READ THIS FIRST BEFORE POSTING**

Post by Matt » Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:01 am

This board is for the users of Rifidi to request features that they would like Rifidi Edge to support. However, when you are posting here please abide by these rules:

1. Only one feature request per thread, please. This is simply to avoid confusion for when the forum starts to fill up. Please be clear on what you want your feature request to be in the title.
2. Please be as specific as possible when asking for a feature. It is possible that the feature is already in the product, or that there was a workaround that you might now know about. The more specific you are about the nature of the problem you'd like to solve the more we can help you solve it!
3. No bug reports please. Although the difference between a bug and a feature request is by no means a thin bright line, try to post bugs in either the Edge Server User's forum or the Edge Server Developer's forum.

Things you should do:

1. Again, be specific about your problem and how you think the proposed feature can help you achieve that goal. It really helps us out.
2. If you see a feature that you would like already listed here, please post this in the thread! This is an excellent way for us to gauge interest in a particular feature.

Example of a good feature request:

As an example of a good feature request, here is a (fictional) request for a feature (the feature being requested is already implemented in Edge 1.3.1 in case anyone was wondering):
Hello, this is John from company XYZ,

We are implementing a solution using Rifidi paired with an Impinj R1000 reader. The reader will monitor items going along a conveyor belt, and when a tag with a certain prefix enters the read zone we would like to light up an LED with the reader's GPIO interface. However, at the moment I don't see a way to set GPO ports for LLRP. Is this a feature you can implement in the future?
If you aren't sure if a feature is implemented or not, just ask in the User's or Developer's forum!
