Reading LLRP Reader tags

Post by mf2hd » Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:00 am

Hi,

I'm new to rifidi and can't understand how I should read tags from LLRP.
I tried to follow this wiki article http://wiki.rifidi.net/index.php?title=Workbench_User%27s_Guide but I can't find "Open Tag View" from LLRP readers right-click menu.

My reader is standard impinj Revolution R420 and everything else seems to work; Session to reader for example is just ok...

I just can't get how to read tags, so please help :D

You can read tags in a few ways

1) from the command line you can use the currenttags command

please refer to quick start guide on steps

http://www.transcends.co/www/docs/Rifid ... de_3.2.pdf

all user guides for all versions can be found here

http://wiki.rifidi.net/index.php?title=User%27s_Guide

2) once you validate you are able to read tags you can then start building Rifidi apps (or use a Rifidi app jump start) to translate/filter tag reads into business events - this requires programming and Java knowledge

all developers guides for all versions can be found here

Hi,

Actually I found the currenttags command yesterday and it didn't get me any tags.
I'm sure that my hardware works because impinjs test software sees my test tags.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in my understanding LLRP reader should be used about like this:

1) create reader (IP address, port, llrp set reader config, etc...)
2) create session
3) use llrp configure (pull)
4) create llrp pull
5) tags should be readable with currenttags?

You're doing this through the Workbench? Try these steps and see if you get anything:

1) Create LLRP reader
2) Create session
3) Create LLRP-Poll command template
4) Right-click reader session and select Submit Job, set execution to recurring
5) Start reader session if it is not already started

Also as of Rifidi 3.3 there is a web based dashboard as overtime we wiil be deprecating workbench support (but for now workbench still should function just fine as described in previous thread)

http://wiki.rifidi.net/index.php?title= ... _Dashboard

you will still need to go to command line to check via currenttags command (in future web dashboard we are planning to add this feature to make it easier for user to validate from UI vs command line)

I did that cli currenttags (and recenttags) earlier and it returns nothing and I know that hardware works as described before.

Dashboard is also known to me and I have problems understanding that also as described in my other thread.

I've tried all three interfaces, workbench, dashboard and cli, but no win.

With workbench I did almost exactly what You suggested but did not see any tags with currenttags.

1) Create LLRP reader.
2) Create session.
3) Create LLRP Configure and run it once.
4) Create LLRP-Poll command template and run it recurring.

I noticed that my readers RFID status is "idle" via readrs www ui, so is there some "activation" or something that I'm missing or am I just too simple minded? :D
