Designer not working

Post by Rifidi-User » Fri Apr 25, 2008 5:09 pm

I downloaded and installed RIFIDI Designer v1.1 on a PC running Windows XP.
I can open the RIFIDI Designer application and it loads fine. When I create
a new layout and click finish, the application goes back to the "main" screen.
I should now see the layout that I just created on the "Layout Designer" tab
but I dont see anything.

Do I need to install some other software to make this work? What do I need
to do to use this application? I can get RIFIDI Emulator to work and thats
a cool app but the Designer is really want I want to try.

Thanks for your help!

I think actually Rifidi Designer v1.1 requires that you run JRE 1.5. Your
description of the problem sounds to me like what happened when I tried to run
Designer with JRE 1.6 installed. For instructions on how to run Rifidi Designer
with JRE 1.5, please see http://wiki.rifidi.org/index.php/Specifying_JRE_5.

The next version of release of Rifidi Designer should be compatible with JRE
1.6.

I installed Rifidi Designer v1.3 and Java RE v1.6 update 6. But when I open the Designer I cannot see the layout, it doesn't appear in the screen when I create it. Even if I drag components to the layout, nothing shows up. I am running Vista Home Edition. Can you give me a hand?

Vista is currently not supported.
We will probably start working on Vista support for the next release.

Please go to the designer installation directory.
In there is a workspace directory that contains a dir named .metadata, grab all files starting with log and send em to us.
Thanks

Very weird.
Could you please send me the specs of your System?
GPU, CPU, jdk ...
I will try to reproduce this bug on my machine but that may take a little.
