Re: EPC v 1.1
Hi Deborah,
Thanks for taking an interest in Rifidi and writing us. The problem
with your testing methods are that the EPC Reader is not set up for HTTP
access at this point.
Right now you could only access the EPC reader by using telnet to get to
it. It is accessed very similar to the way the alien reader is
accessed.
You would simply telnet into the reader and the username is 'epc' and
the password is 'password'.
Hope that helps. Also could I ask what your interest is in the EPC
reader protocol and how you are looking at using it and Rifidi in
general. I am just asking because we are also developing a virtual
reader for the new EPC reader specification (LLRP) and this will
probably supercede EPC Reader Protocol.
Well anyways thanks for writing and please let us know if there is any
other way we can improve Rifidi.
Best regards

I'm very newbie of Rifidi products. I tried to connecte to the EPC reader Gen2 with 2 antennas via Telnet by using this syntaxe:
C:\>telnet 127.0.0.1 20000
but the connexion failed even if I started my Telnet service!
Is there any help please?!
Cheers

Re: EPC v 1.1
Hi Hanan,
Sounds like you didn't turn on the reader. To turn on the reader, right click on it in the "ReaderView" tab and press "Start". The reader should go from "(NEW)" to "(RUNNING)". However, we recommend that people use readers besides the EPC, as the EPC isn't finished. Try the Alien, as we have extensive documentation on that reader.
You can look at what we have on the wiki:
http://wiki.rifidi.org/index.php/Alien_9800
or post more on the forums if you have more questions.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: EPC v 1.1
Thank you Matt for your response,
The problem was in IP address, instead of using the loopback address 127.0.0.1, I changed by the IP address of my PC in the network and the test was done successfully! This is why I couldn't telnet to the reader!
Thank you again!
