Hi,
This is my first time to use Rifidi, and I am confused for hours why the Emulator doesn't look like the same on the User's Guide(http://wiki.rifidi.net/index.php?title= ... %27s_Guide).
I installed Emulator1.6 and JDK1.6u35 on a Win2003 Virtual Machine.
The User's Guide says:
Launching Rifidi: Simply click the shortcut located in the Rifidi folder in the Start Menu/Programs folder
Starting a Virtual Reader:1.Once the program is loaded, the main GUI will be present. 1.To start the reader, click the 'add reader button'.
But, when the program is loaded, there is only a "Create New Tag" button on the main GUI.There is NO "add reader" button.
Finally I have to turn to this forum for your help.
Why my GUI is different from the User's Guide?
I don't find any suggestion that the Emulator must be installed on the host, not on the VM.
Thanks in advance.

Re: NO "add reader" button on GUI
Running in a vm should be fine.
In the reader view panel there is a + icon. Mouse over and you will see add reader. Click on the + icon and this will render the add reader wizard.
In previous versions 1.5 there was add reader icon in the main panel so our wiki needs to be updated with the latest screen shot. Good catch.

Re: NO "add reader" button on GUI
Hi Hypatia,
There are a few UI differences between the UI shown on the wiki and the UI of the current version, but they are basically the same.
The "add reader" button is next to the "reader view" tab:
