New instructions to compile rifidi from source

Post by kyle » Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:31 pm

We've done some work with emulator lately to be able to support groovy (a scripting language) on top of emulator in order to allow for scripted rfid emulations. In order to do this, we needed to add spring support and switch the target platform to 3.5. As such, the way you check out and download rifidi from source has been changed a bit.

Here is what you need to do:

Make sure you are using eclipse 3.5 for plugin developers.

In an empty workspace check out org.rifidi.binary, org.rifidi.emualor.target3.5 and org.rifidi.ui.ide (see the original wiki article http://wiki.rifidi.net/index.php?title= ... ource_Code).

Now open up the target platform and click the "set as target platform"

Open up the product file in org.rifdi.ui.ide and click "launch an eclipse application". This will probably not work. Now you need to open up the run configuration (run->run configuraitons) and click on the tab that says plugins. Set the "default auto-start" to true and click the button that says "add required plugins". Now click apply and run.

After you do all this the first time, you should be able to run the emulator by just running the run configuration.

Note that if you don't choose your base checkout directory as the workspace for Eclipse, then you'll need to edit the locations in the emulator.target file so that the build can find the necessary jars. If you don't, it will complain about not being able to find EclipseStarter.
Also, in a fresh download of 3.5 for plugin developers (http://archive.eclipse.org/technology/e ... _64.tar.gz), I needed to set a default installation JRE or it complained about not being able to find the "" JRE.
