Re: Designer not working
I think actually Rifidi Designer v1.1 requires that you run JRE 1.5. Your description of the problem sounds to me like what happened when I tried to run Designer with JRE 1.6 installed. For instructions on how to run Rifidi Designer with JRE 1.5, please see http://wiki.rifidi.org/index.php/Specifyin...

Re: Rifidi RF Range
Hi, Currently Rifidi Does not differentiate between ranges. A tag is either 'in the field of view' or 'out of the field of view', depending on whether or not a tag is on the antenna. For more information on rifidi, see our wiki at wiki.rifidi.org. Please feel free to write back with any further ques...

Re: Samle LLRP XML Messages
Hi, We do have unit tests, however they are written in java (as Junits). They do not use XML messages as input. We create the messages as Java objects and just encode them to a binary message and send them to our reader directly. Because of this, it would be alot of trouble for you to glean the "sta...

For the alien reader see http://wiki.rifidi.org/index.php/Alien_Example_Client . For the LLRP reader see http://wiki.rifidi.org/index.php/LLRPHelloWorld . Also, There is one open source ALE server Logic Alloy which will demostrate how a Alien reader responds to tag events. There is also test case do...

Re: OS X Installation
Hi,
i'm sorry about that, but currently we are have no installers for OS X. But you can try to build it from the sources and run it that way.
Best regards,

Re: Save reader and tag configuration
Hi,
currently we are not able to save the created readers nor the generated tags. But we already planing to implement that feature in the near future. So watch out for new releases.

Re: Valid tag data
Hi, in Version 1.5 we are not having that complicated wizard anymore. But you still can enter some custom data when you choose the "CustomTag" format which allows you to define a prefix for the Tag ID. The necessary Bit's after the prefix will be generated automatically. Best regards, Rifidi Community

Re: Alien Client tool
The Client-Tool we used in our video was provided by the alien reader. As it is proprietary we can't provide you with a link to it. You can find more information about how to write a client at http://wiki.rifidi.org/index.php/Alien_Example_Client

Re: Logic Alloy and Rifid
This is a known issue with the current version of LogicAlloy and the port we use to create a Alien reader. The solution is to change the port to something other than port 10000 and this will solve your problem. LogicAlloy uses port 10000 for a different purposes therefore creates the timeout issue. ...
